Known for portraying versatile characters on the silver screen, Aamir Khan is all set to step into Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks shoes in his next. While the leaked on-set images and posters of the movie gave us a glimpse of the 56-year-old Indian actor never-seen-before avatar, fans are pretty excited to see him reunite with Kareena Kapoor Khan once again. While the makers have announced that the movie will finally release on Baisakhi this year, an India Today report suggests that Aamir is currently planning to host a special screening of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ for the veteran Hollywood actor in the US.
A source close to the project was quoted saying, “There is a buzz that closer to the release of Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir would hold the screening for Tom Hanks in the US (United States) or travel there to personally show him the film. It is because he wants Tom Hanks to watch Laal Singh Chaddha and share his thoughts.”
While Aamir’s last release ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ failed to excel at the box office, Mr Perfectionist would be hoping to turn his fortune with ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. An official remake of Hanks’ Oscar-winning movie ‘Forrest Gump’, the Aamir and Kareena starrer is helmed by Advait Chandan.
‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is expected to clash with South superstar Yash’s ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ on April 14. Talking about the box office clash, Aamir had previously stated that he has already apologised to Yash and the KGF team for opting for the same release date. “Before I finalised the date, I profusely apologised to the producer, director and lead man of KGF Chapter 2. They understood my viewpoint and were good enough to ask me to go ahead in spite of their film releasing on the same day. I was very touched by their gesture,” Aamir said.
