Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan’s Hindi film industry debut was one of the most anticipated. Despite having had a promising start because of his resemblance to his father, he quickly became a victim of trolling due to his acting performances in his films Nadaaniyaan and Sarzameen. Being the most-anticipated projects of the year, netizens heavily criticised not only the films, their plot, but also the acting performances of the actors involved.
Now, in a new interview with Esquire Magazine, Ibrahim has shared his take on the “nonstop trolling” that has come his way ever since the release of his film Nadaaniyan, co-starring Khushi Kapoor, on Netflix. Talking about it, he revealed that his hype had dropped after his debut film’s premiere.
Quoted by Hindustan Times, the 24-year-old actor added, “Not too long ago, they were all waiting for my launch, and after Nadaaniyan, the hype has dropped really badly. They’ve trolled me nonstop. ‘He won’t be able to do it only.’ It’s a massive low… and I constantly feel bad about it.”
In the same interview, he went on to share that the Shauna Gautam directorial was “really bad.” However, he went on to add that the trolling that followed post post-release of the film was because of mob mentality. He went on to express that in the future, when he delivers a blockbuster film, he expects the same response from the netizens.
Khan said, “There were people who were trolling it just because they heard that some other person was trolling it. That’s uncalled for, but if I now give a blockbuster in the future, I want the same kind of response. They should go mad after me.”
On the work front, last seen in Nadaaniyan and Sarzameen, Ibrahim Ali Khan is yet to officially announce his next film. If media reports are to be believed, he has a sports drama in his pipeline titled Diler, directed by Kunal Deshmukh and produced by Dinesh Vijan.
