In the year of the fire horse zodiac, a happy-looking plushie was marketed by the Chinese Yiwu Fortunate Plush Manufacturing company based in what is regarded as ‘the world’s supermarket for small commodities’ in Yiwu city. I mean it’s kind of expected to market anything remotely equestrian cuz it’s seasonal. However, what ensued from a sewing mistake in the production took the country by storm. Instead of a smiling horse as below

Marketed as an emotional support plush besides its more optimistic sibling, the Cry-Cry Horse went viral after customers refused to return the flawed design. Per Reuters, Zhang Huoqing, the owner of a Yiwu-based shop, Happy Sister, stated that soon she saw the crying horse all over social media. She quipped that people joked that a sad-faced horse is how you look at the workplace, while a happy horse is how one seems when back from work.

The plush toy is in huge demand in China as the new year celebrations approach. The trend is expected to trickle out of the region. However, if you are looking for one before it goes viral worldwide and irrationally expensive, get one from here.
