Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty’s film Border 2 is successfully running in theatres amid Dhurandhar’s successful run as Mardaani 3’s recent release. Having released during the Republic Day weekend, the movie continues to impress the audiences. It has managed to outperform Rani Mukerji’s film at the box office.
Well, according to a recent report by the Free Press Journal, the movie has earned Rs 10.75 crore on its eighth day of release. Reportedly, despite the 4.44% drop in collections, the movie has taken its total domestic box office collection to Rs 235 crore. It has opened up to a strong Rs 30 crore on its first day.

On the other hand, despite the initial excitement surrounding the film’s release, Mardaani 3 only earned Rs 3.80 crore on its opening day. The third instalment of the franchise has recorded an opening similar to its predecessors. Reportedly, the 2014 film earned Rs 3.46 crore on its first day of release, and the 2019 film, which co-starred Vishal Jethwa, made a collection of Rs 3.80 crore on day 1.
A spiritual sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 war drama, Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh and co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta. It stars an ensemble cast of Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Diljit Dosanjh, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and debutant Medha Rana.
Released on January 30, 2026, Mardaani 3 is directed by Abhiraj Minawala. The upcoming film features an ensemble cast including Rani Mukerji, Janki Bodiwala, and Mallika Prasad in the lead roles. Produced by Yash Raj Films, Aayush Gupta has written the screenplay and the dialogues for the film.
