Apple’s forthcoming mixed reality headset has been the subject of rumors for quite some time. According to reports, the business would combine (augmented reality) AR with (virtual reality) VR to provide consumers with an immersive experience.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, has recently revealed even more information on the headset’s manufacture, release date, and availability. If the specifications are correct, Apple’s mixed reality gadget should be released in late 2022.

Kuo’s note — which was delivered to investors — notes that availability will be restricted upon launch, thus according to 9to5Mac. More large deliveries are unlikely to happen until the first quarter of 2023. This isn’t surprising, given that Apple has recently had supply difficulties.

The AirPods Max, for example, was unveiled in December 2020. However, the planned delivery date was immediately pushed back to March 2021. Apple’s mixed reality headset will reportedly include an “innovative three-display arrangement” that combines two Micro OLEDs and an AMOLED panel. It might possibly include superior processors and strong sensors for spatial awareness.

The device’s initial iteration may be targeted towards professionals rather than typical users. According to rumors, it might cost as much as $3,000.

It’s unknown what functions will be included in the mixed reality headgear. Furthermore, we still don’t know whether it will appeal to a broad audience or a narrow one. When it comes to delivering a new product, Apple is known for taking its time and incorporating revolutionary features into its competitors’ offerings. In the fall, the AR/VR headset might be released alongside the iPhone 14 series.

It’s also possible that Apple will incorporate it into the Mac event. Apple usually hosts two events towards the end of the year, so the device will almost certainly be introduced at one of them. Of course, this assumes that the rumors are true.
