The 5th installment of desi comedy franchise Housefull has got the fans excited. ‘Housefull 5’ is reportedly bringing Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Bobby Deol under one roof. The movie would be one of the biggest multi-starrer in Hindi cinema. According to the report, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has been gunning to get the entire star cast of the Housefull universe under one roof. He’s been trying to crack a plot that would justify the presence of all of these characters in a single movie. The story and the script for Housefull 5 is still a work in progress.

Here’s how netizens are reacting to the Housefull 5’ news. While there’s general excitement amongst the die-hard fans, the internet is calling out the producers for going ahead with the movie. The Housefull franchise was helmed by #MeToo accused director Sajid Khan until its third installment. Sajid was forced to quit the series and Farhad Samji took over the reigns of Housefull 4. The duo had earlier co-directed Housefull 3. Since October 2018, Sajid has been accused by many female coworkers of sexual harrasment. Some of the women who came forward about Sajid’s predatory behavior were – Saloni Chopra, Mandana Karimi, Rachel White, Simran Suri, Dimple Paula, Aahana Kumra, Sherlyn Chopra and Marina Kuwar. Following the allegations, the Indian Film and Television Directors Association banned him from directing any films. However, the ban was revoked in 2019. Sajid is now a contestant in Bigg Boss 16, amid huge public backlash of giving a predator national platform. One of the survivors, Mandana Karimi quit the industry, following Sajid’s participation in Bigg Boss 16.
