Shahid Kapoor & Tripti Dimri-starrer ‘O Romeo’ trailer dropped! And it is the usual naach gaana maar dhaad fare in slo-mo. Guns ablazing, dance numbers, a dialogue here, a dishoom there—the movie is for the reel-baaz generation that has been groomed on a steady stream of flicks like the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal (2023). With a predictable plot set in the post-independence Mumbai infested by the underworld, the latest Vishal Bhardwaj directorial features an ensemble of cast including Disha Patani, Tamannah Bhatia, and Nana Patekar, among others. Vikrant Massey is set for a special appearance in the movie.
Shahid Kapoor portrays Hussain Ustara in O Romeo, while his love interest onscreen, Triptii Dimri, plays the role of Afsha. A buffed-up Avinash Tiwary as Jalal plays the typical goonda in the film. IMDB mentions the following actors in the film: Dia Mirza, Tara Sharma, Sanya Malhotra, Ram Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor and Randeep Hooda, besides Akshay Kumar in a cameo (oops, spoiler).
The movie could just be a boilerplate bollywood blockbuster with Shahid Kapoor and Nana Patekar trying to troubleshoot a train wreck. Set to release on 13 February 2026, hopefully it won’t break the fans’ collective hearts before Valentine’s Day.
