Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max Key Specs Leaked, Foldable iPhone Expected in 2026

Apple’s next flagship lineup, the iPhone 18 series, is already creating buzz online just weeks after the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air launched globally. According to early leaks, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could feature notable upgrades and design changes, while the entire iPhone 18 series might see a phased launch. Apple is also reportedly preparing to debut its first-ever foldable iPhone alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro models, marking a major leap in its smartphone evolution.

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series could see a major design shift, according to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. The Pro models are expected to get an upgraded form factor, a variable aperture camera system, and a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with a larger aperture for better low-light photography. These upgrades suggest Apple is doubling down on camera innovation and refining the Pro lineup’s premium edge.

The company reportedly plans a phased rollout for the iPhone 18 lineup. The iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, Air, and Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the Fold, are tipped to launch in September 2026. The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models are expected to follow in early 2027, marking a major departure from Apple’s traditional simultaneous iPhone releases. This staggered launch strategy may help Apple better manage production complexity while highlighting premium models first.

Design-wise, the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to maintain the triple rear camera setup seen in the iPhone 17 Pro but may introduce a semi-transparent back panel that exposes MagSafe coils for a futuristic look. Apple could also retain the stainless-steel vapour chamber cooling system for improved heat management during high-performance tasks.

The iPhone 18 lineup is also rumored to feature display and chip advancements. Some leaks point to nearly full-screen LTPO OLED panels with Face ID sensors embedded under the display, while others suggest a smaller Dynamic Island instead of a full removal. Under the hood, Apple’s new A20 chip, built on TSMC’s second-generation 2nm process, is expected to deliver superior power efficiency and thermal control. Its advanced integration of SoC and DRAM could significantly boost Apple Intelligence and on-device AI performance.
