Explora Journeys Launches Autumn Mediterranean Sailings on Explora I and II

Explora Journeys is inviting travelers to experience the Mediterranean at its most authentic, unveiling a series of curated late summer and early autumn voyages aboard Explora I and Explora II. Sailing through November 2025, the itineraries highlight the calmer, cooler and more intimate side of the region—complete with radiant afternoons, fewer crowds and immersive destination experiences.

“The late Mediterranean season has an understated magic,” said Anna Nash, president of Explora Journeys, in a statement. “It’s a time when destinations become their truest selves—when local rhythms return, the light takes on new depth and clarity, and travelers can connect with places and people on a richer, more authentic level. These Journeys unveil the region’s captivating beauty while providing the space and time to truly absorb it all.”

Eastern Mediterranean Aboard Explora I

From September through October, Explora I explores Greece, Türkiye and beyond, with departures from Athens, Istanbul, Antalya, Venice (Fusina) and Barcelona. Highlights include Katakolo, gateway to ancient Olympia, and itineraries designed with overnights to give guests more time in port.

One highlight sailing, “A Journey between Magnificent Ruins & Myths” (October 2–8), travels from Antalya to Istanbul with stops in Paphos, Kusadasi and Mytilene. Travelers can expect settings where whitewashed villages, Byzantine chapels and spice-scented bazaars meet storied ruins and sacred grottos.

Western Mediterranean Aboard Explora II

Meanwhile, Explora II traces the Riviera, Sicily, Sardinia and beyond, departing from Barcelona, Civitavecchia (Rome), Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Lisbon. The itineraries invite guests to discover Ibiza’s quieter side, stroll cobbled lanes in Saint-Tropez or sample Trapani’s earthy wines.

The “Journey of Riviera Starlets & Napoléon’s Corsica” (October 6–13) sails from Barcelona to Rome, calling at Monte Carlo, Saint-Tropez, Alghero, Ajaccio and Livorno. Later, “A Journey from Cliffs to Cathedrals” (October 28–November 2) departs Santa Cruz de Tenerife for Barcelona, with stops in Lanzarote and Cádiz.

Extended Journeys

For those seeking a deeper immersion, Explora Journeys offers “Extended Journeys,” which combine multiple itineraries into one seamless experience across countries and cultures.
