The Plaza New York is serving up a new collaboration with Lacoste this summer, blending luxury hospitality and French sporting heritage. The Fifth Avenue property announced it will debut a Tennis-Inspired Afternoon Tea in its Palm Court through September 10, timed to coincide with New York’s tennis season.
The limited-run tea service is designed in partnership with Lacoste and takes cues from Le Café Lacoste, the brand’s newly launched culinary concept. Executive Chef Muhannad Al Ateem and Executive Pastry Chef Kevin Clemenceau created a menu that nods to both French style and the sport’s traditions. Highlights include the pistachio-based Le Crocodile entremets, Court Side Cucumber sandwiches, a twist on the classic croque monsieur dubbed Le “Croc” Monsieur, and themed desserts like the Game. Set. Citrus. lemon cake and Earl Grey Tea Break macarons.

The setting itself will also reflect the partnership. The Palm Court’s stained-glass dome will be lit in Lacoste’s signature green, while original racquets designed by René Lacoste will be displayed as part of the décor. Guests can pair the menu with teas, champagne and cocktails branded as “C(r)ocktails.”
“The Plaza has always embraced the moments that energize New York, and with tennis season around the corner, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the sport by serving up a fresh take on Afternoon Tea,” said Sam Ioannidis, managing director at The Plaza Hotel. “Partnering with Lacoste—a brand that shares our commitment to quality, style, and experience—allows us to offer something memorable for guests and locals alike.”
The experience will be available daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., priced from $145 per person. Reservations are strongly recommended and can be booked through OpenTable.
