Birthday Girl Watching Final Destination Escapes Death At Theatre After Theatre Ceiling Fell On Her: Watch

Final Destination: Bloodlines, the sixth installment in the franchise and a prequel to the fifth, has been raking in rave reviews since its global release. The movie seems to be building some urban legend of being cursed with freak incidents now.

Initially planned for an OTT release on HBO Max, the supernatural horror flick was later picked for a theatrical release. Millennials who grew up on the blockbuster franchise expected nothing short of a stellar script and the movie didn’t disappoint. Made with a budget of a modest $50 million, the Hollywood flick has so far earned $187 million and counting since its May 16th release.

The premise of the movie revolves around death that comes for all with no escape hatch, making some moviegoers paranoid. And why not, if you have a near-death experience watching the movie!

A 29-year-old woman in Argentina, Fiamma Villaverde, was injured when a part of the theater ceiling fell on her during the screening at the Cinema Ocho in La Plata, Buenos Aires.

The incident happened on 19th May, her birthday, when Fiamma Villaverde accompanied her 11-year-old daughter to the show. The woman was injured and hospitalized.

As reported in the local media, Fiamma walked in for the show owing to the tickets being inexpensive on the day. Suddenly there was a loud noise, which the 40-odd patrons perceived to be part of the movie. And then she was struck from the ceiling of room 4, injuring her knee, ankle, shoulder, and back. As she was leaning on the armrest, the woman’s head was not hit.

The woman was furious that the incident could have occurred with her daughter. Fiamma underwent treatment at a hospital nearer her home. Besides the physical trauma, the woman admitted to having panic attacks as well. She quipped

I hadn’t been to the movies in years. I went because it was my birthday, and look what happened to me

Reactions poured in. Take a gander.
