Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan left his fans in deep worry after he was attacked by an intruder in his home in January. After much-speculation on what happened that night, and with the family’s security being tightened, he has recently started stepping out the house to promote his upcoming film Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins. After the attack, he and his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan requested the paparazzi to not click photos and videos of their sons Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. Now, he has opened up about it all.
During an interaction with ETimes, the 54-year-old actor spoke about the traumatic experience and how it taught him to be careful about locking doors, windows of his home and taking other precautions. He insisted that everyone should smarten their security. Despite being particular about his and his family’s security detail after the attack, he revealed that he never “believed” in them. While admitting that he needs to surrounded by guards for now, the actor stated that he hated “having people around” him.

Saif expressed that he was truly lucky to have survived the brutal knife attack. Sharing how “‘it wasn’t his time to go,” he added, “Maybe I’m meant to do a few more good films… have some more nice times with family and friends. Do some more charity,”
For those who don’t remember, Khan was stabbed by an intruder at his Bandra residence on January 16. The incident reportedly happened at around 2 AM, when he heard noises from his youngest son Jeh’s room. There he saw the intruder in a heated argument with a female employee. Saif jumped in between them to protect everyone. He got stabbed six times during the altercation and was rushed to the hospital in an auto, accompanied by his son Taimur Ali Khan.
Media reports stated that his medical report, which has surfaced on the internet, mentions that he suffered a 0.5 to 1 cm injury on the left side of his back, a 5 to 10 cm injury in his left wrist, 10-15 cm injury on the right side of his back and a 3-5 cm injury on his right shoulder. He reportedly underwent a two-hour-long surgery at the Lilavati Hospital to remove a 2.5 inch piece of the knife, which was stuck near his spine.
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan will be next seen in Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins, co-starring Jaideep Ahlawat, Nikita Dutta, and Kunal Kapoor. Set to release on April 25, 2025, the film will stream on Netflix.
