10-Year-Old From Bangalore Among Winners At 2021 Wildlife Photographer Of The Year Contest

From battling reindeers to voracious grizzlies, raven courtship to tripping underwater fungi – these are some of the breath-taking images that won against thousands of other entries in the 2021 edition of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest.

Organized every year since 1965 by the Natural History Museum in London, the competition attracted over 50,000 entries from across the world. This year, the contest had 19 different categories, including new ones such as “Wetlands—The Bigger Picture” and “Oceans—The Bigger Picture”.

Along with the different categories, the contest also featured an overall wildlife photographer of the year, won by French Polynesian Photographer Laurent Ballesta for and work “Creation”.

 

And the “Young photographer of the year”, won by a 10-year-old Vidyun Hebbar from Bengaluru, India, for his photo capturing the intricate web of a tent spider, while a rickshaw passes in the background.
