‘We Can Take On Microsoft:’ ZOHO Founder Challenges Satya Nadella-Led Big Tech On Home Turf Over Product Range

Shortly after Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, also the Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Minister of Electronics and Information endorsed Zoho CRM, the firm’s co-founder took to X/Twitter and challenged Microsoft on home turf.

Earlier Minister Vaishnaw showcased the swadeshi software suit stating “moving to Zoho,” on a non-Swadeshi laptop (irony), posting on a non-Swadeshi social media platform (double irony). Ironies aside, Vembu quipped on X/Twitter with a graphic of range of products from the stable of Zoho and Manage Engine,

He challenged Satya Nadella-led American tech giant Microsoft, stating,

We are the only company in the world that can take on Microsoft in the breadth and depth of the product suite. Our products offer a vastly superior experience to Microsoft, please take a good look!”

Zoho’s ex-CEO further added,

We are doubling down on R&D in cloud infrastructure, platforms, AI and applications, so you will see even faster innovation from us.”

Meanwhile reactions poured in.

One user remarked, “Just Three more things sir Please please: ZohoTube. ZohoShorts. ZohoPhone. Please sir these 3 things, and I will be proudly using only Indian things. I feel deeply connected that I only want to use Indian products and services. I am deeply passionate about using Indian.”

Another user suggested, “please make an email service as easy to use as google and free. will be true national service. We must wean ourselves off US tech products.”

A third user wrote, “If I take the Zoho license to replace MS365 license, will I be able to open and edit office docs and will others be able to open and edit Zoho docs in MS? If so, I’ll migrate today itself.”

Yet another user commented,

Switching from an app that someone has used for years is not easy.

1.. You need to make sure that there is not much to un-learn and re-learn for the users

2.. I hope Docs etc created through MS365 suite or Google are compatible with yours.”

A few other suers shared their grievances,

Sir, my number is already linked to a business email on @Zoho, so I can’t create a personal one with the same contact. Gmail allows multiple accounts with a single number. Request you to fix this limitation.. it’s restrictive and inconvenient.
