Kunal Kemmu is probably the most underrated actor in Bollywood. That and a fan-favorite who never disappoints with his choices. Be it his grey role in kalank or the fact that he can tickle funny bones like he did in Lootcase, Kemmu is as versatile as it gets. And obviously, he has been around a long time. He started as a child actor and has shared the screen space with actors like Aamir Khan in Raja Hindustani. But even though he got an early start, the actor paused before he could comeback with Kalyug and how! Obviously, there has been no looking back. Up until now; in this episode of The Bombay Journey, Kunal Kemmu revisits his early Bombay days, local trains, films, marriage, parenthood and everything in between.

So much so that, this entire page can be filled about his first memory and most memorable experience of the local train. Yes, it includes an expired pass. Not just that; he also breaks down the hacks of navigating a crowded local train and it’s unmissable. He even said that one’s perspective of the city is incomplete without Bombay’s local trains and we STAN. But how did he get into acting? Well, he auditioned in his primitive days by mistake but like they say, it was a good one! And thus began his relationship with the art of storytelling. He also shares a deep bond with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt who helmed him in Zakhm and later launched him as a lead actor in Kalyug. Which was surprisingly called Blue Film earlier. He did heave a sigh of relief when it was renamed and that’s another story in itself. What is striking, as evident by the comments below the video, is that Kemmu is as humble as he was even after delivering myriads of performance. Probably because he has his own share of struggles as a child star, a role ever so replaceable and forgettable.

In fact, his fans are still hungry for more of Kemmu. While we are still hungry; he is a big foodie. Vada pav, pav bhaji and the likes are his favourites and not in a fussy way. In fact, he also reveals that daughter Inaaya has inherited the quality from him and *touchwood* eats her veggies! She is also patient with him as he sits to braid the hair on her toys. Ideal papa much? It didn’t end without his love letter to the city, it’s food and it’s language. Watch all that and more here:
