Thama Trailer X Reviews: Ayushmann Khurrana-Rashmika Mandanna’s Film Fails To Impress, ‘Dull & Ordinary’

Maddock’s Horror Comedy Universe is all set to expand with Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Thama. The makers of the show have finally unveiled the much-anticipated trailer of the film. Surrounding the lore of vampires, it is scheduled for release on the occasion of Diwali this year. Despite the surrounding buzz about the film, it seems like the trailer has failed to impress the audience. Many have taken to their social media handles to share their views about it.

Talking about the trailer, it begins with introducing the terrifying villain, played by Nawazuddin, who pledges to drink blood of human, despite being created to protect them. Following the introduction, it seems that he gets trapped for thousands of years for his misdeeds and is confronted by Ayushmann’s character. After much back and forth, Rashmika’s character is introduced, who tries her best to get him to come to terms with being a vampire.

What follows is the usual Maddock chao, complete with banger music and iconic dialogues, not to forget mentioning a cameo by Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya. Despite the movie being visually appealing, what strikes as odd is that there is no romantic chemistry between the lead characters. Now it might also be because of the way the trailer is edited, but we will get to know for sure when the movie finally releases.

The makers took to their official social media handle to unveil the trailer with the caption, “A forgotten legend from our folklore, #Thamma takes centre stage this Diwali 🦇 Maddock Horror Comedy Universe presents a bloody love story, produced by Dinesh Vijan & Amar Kaushik and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar.
