SpaceX Delays Starship Test Flight For Another Day Due To Bad Weather

SpaceX has delayed Starship‘s 10th test flight on Tuesday again due to bad weather at the launch site at Starbase, Texas. This marks the second consecutive day of scrubbed launch attempts, following a Monday postponement caused by issues with ground support systems.

“Standing down from today’s flight test attempt due to weather. Starship team is determining the next best available opportunity to fly,” SpaceX posted on X today. The scrub was announced just 40 seconds before the scheduled liftoff.

The Starship vehicle is designed to revolutionise space travel as a fully reusable launch system. Its goals are slashing the costs of orbital access, enabling NASA’s Artemis program to return humans to the lunar surface, and paving the way for crewed missions to Mars. Each test flight is a critical step toward proving the rocket’s capabilities. However, the three past Starship missions this year have not ended as expected, as the upper stage exploded after losing communications.

The stakes for Starship’s development are high as it will decide the timeline for NASA’s Artemis III mission, which will take astronauts back to the Moon in 2027. Besides, SpaceX is also planning to launch the first Starship on its first Mars mission in 2026.

As for flight 10, it seems to have been delayed indefinitely as a launch date is yet to be announced.
