Samsung is moving fast this year. Just a few months after rolling out One UI 7, the company has now announced the One UI 8 Beta Program. It’s an unexpected but welcome surprise, and it looks like Samsung is trying to make up for earlier delays by getting ahead with Android 16.
The real head-turner? The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will be the first smartphones to launch with Android 16 right out of the box. It’s clear that Samsung is doubling down on innovation, especially in its foldable devices.
The One UI 8 update promises to make the Galaxy experience even smarter and more user-friendly. It’s packed with upgrades that focus on artificial intelligence, productivity, and everyday convenience. The beta is already live for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in selected regions, Germany, South Korea, the UK, and the US. If you’re in one of these countries, you can sign up for the beta through Samsung’s official app.
So, it’s confirmed now. ✅

Samsung also confirmed that One UI 8 will first roll out on its newest foldables, likely debuting at the next Galaxy Unpacked event this summer. That’s where we’re expecting the official reveal of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, along with the full launch of One UI 8.
So what’s actually new in One UI 8? For starters, Samsung is leaning into multimodal AI, which basically means smarter, more personalised features based on how you use your device. The Now Bar and Now Brief, both powered by on-device AI, are getting improvements to offer better suggestions and quicker access to what you need.
One of the more practical updates comes to Quick Share, Samsung’s file-sharing tool. It’s now got separate “Send” and “Receive” tabs to make it easier to use. Samsung Internet is also seeing some small tweaks, like new shortcuts, that aim to improve the overall browsing experience.
This shift to Android 16 and One UI 8 is part of Samsung’s bigger strategy to stay ahead of the curve. That said, some users are wondering whether the update will bring enough real improvements, especially since it’s landing just six months after the last one.
Still, for fans of Samsung, especially those eyeing foldable phones, One UI 8 is shaping up to be a promising step forward. As the beta unfolds, we’ll get a better look at how Samsung is reimagining mobile life for 2025 and beyond.
