Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 AI Glasses, Oakley Meta Vanguard Launched In India; Sale Goes Live On Amazon And Flipkart

Meta has expanded the availability of its AI-powered smart eyewear in India, with the Oakley Meta Vanguard and Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 now available for purchase online via Amazon and Flipkart. The move brings Meta’s hands-free camera, audio, and voice-driven AI features to a wider Indian audience, signalling a deeper push into wearable AI.

The Oakley Meta Vanguard is priced at ₹52,300, while the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 starts at ₹39,900, positioning both as premium smart eyewear options.

Performance-focused Oakley Meta Vanguard

The Oakley Meta Vanguard targets users with active lifestyles, combining sport-oriented frames with integrated smart features. The glasses include:

  • A built-in camera for hands-free photos and videos
  • Open-ear speakers for audio without blocking ambient sound
  • IPX4 water resistance, making them suitable for workouts and outdoor use

Designed to be lightweight and movement-friendly, the Vanguard aims to deliver AI functionality without compromising athletic performance, appealing to fitness users, travellers, and content creators.

Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 brings smarter AI to classic frames

The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 focuses on everyday usability, pairing iconic Ray-Ban designs with upgraded AI capabilities. Users can interact with Meta AI using voice commands such as “Hey Meta” to:

  • Capture photos and videos
  • Ask questions and receive real-time information
  • Control audio playback and device functions

The glasses are available in multiple frame and lens variants, including prescription, sunglasses, polarized, and transition lenses, making them suitable for daily wear.

An improved charging case enhances portability, while a visible LED capture indicator lights up when the camera is active, addressing privacy transparency concerns.

Localised AI for India

Both devices introduce contextual AI experiences tailored for Indian users, including support for Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu voice interactions.

Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 also features an AI voice option inspired by Deepika Padukone, reflecting Meta’s strategy of localising AI experiences for regional markets.

Wearable AI moves mainstream

The online rollout marks a significant step in bringing AI wearables into mainstream Indian retail, moving beyond limited offline availability. By integrating camera, audio, and conversational AI into familiar eyewear designs, Meta is positioning smart glasses as a daily computing device rather than a niche gadget.

With premium pricing but expanded access, the launch signals growing competition in the AI hardware and wearable computing segment, where hands-free interaction is becoming a key differentiator.
