OTT Release Date Of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra Finalised; Here’s When And Where To Watch The Malayalam Film

Dominic Arun wrote and directed the superhero feature Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan. It hit theaters on August 28, 2025, earning widespread acclaim for its acting, visuals, world-building, cinematography, production quality, and score. The movie became the all-time highest-grossing Malayalam film, the top Malayalam earner of 2025, and one of the biggest Indian grossers of the year.

JioHotstar will stream it from October 31, 2025. The platform posted the trailer on X with the caption: “Presenting the official trailer of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen and Sandy Master. Streaming exclusively on JioHotstar from October 31.”

The plot follows a mysterious woman who moves to Bengaluru, takes a night job, and lives alone. Her neighbor Sunny grows curious about her odd behavior—fighting criminals and receiving strange packages. Chandra is secretly a centuries-old vampire summoned to the city; the narrative tracks her assignment while introducing Sunny to the hidden supernatural world.

The cast includes Kalyani Priyadarshan as Chandra Ananya, Naslen as Sunny Kurian and Michael Joseph, Sandy Master as Inspector Nachiyappa Gowda, Chandu Salim Kumar as Venu, Arun Kurian as Naijil, Raghunath Paleri as Tom Isaac, Jain Andrews as Home Minister Murugesan, Nishanth Sagar as Prakash, and Tovino Thomas as Michael, along with others.

Dulquer Salmaan produced it via Wayfarer Films. Jake Bejoy handled the music, Nimish Ravi the cinematography, and Chaman Chakko the editing.
