OnePlus Unveils Personalised AI Vision With Plus Key And AI-Powered Features On Upcoming Devices

OnePlus has officially stepped into the AI arena, announcing a bold new direction focused on personalized artificial intelligence with the launch of OnePlus AI. Central to this vision is the Plus Key, a customizable hardware button making its debut on the upcoming OnePlus 13s, and a suite of innovative AI features designed to boost user productivity, creativity, and data security.

At the core of OnePlus AI is an ambition to deliver smart, intuitive, and deeply personalized experiences. “Our users want AI that enhances how they work, play, and live,” said Arthur Lam, Director of OxygenOS and AI Strategy. “OnePlus AI is designed to help them go All In On Life.”

The Plus Key: A Personal AI Shortcut

Borrowing from the brand’s signature Alert Slider, the new Plus Key can be programmed to launch a range of functions, from snapping a photo to initiating translation. But its standout ability is activating AI Plus Mind, a new feature that lets users instantly capture and organize useful information seen on their screens. Whether it’s event details, travel plans, or booking confirmations, a simple press or a three-finger swipe saves it into a dedicated Mind Space.

AI Plus Mind doesn’t just store information, it understands it. It can pull out event times from screenshots or text and add them straight to your calendar. With AI Search, users can later retrieve saved items using natural, conversational queries. Automatic content categorization is also expected later this year, enhancing organization.

Smarter Tools for Everyday Use

The company also introduced a host of new AI tools under the OnePlus AI umbrella:

  • AI VoiceScribe: Records, summarizes, and translates meetings or calls across major communication apps.
  • AI Call Assistant (India only): Offers call summaries and live translations during phone conversations.
  • AI Translation: Merges all translation types- voice, text, image, and screen- into one seamless app.
  • AI Reframe and AI Best Face 2.0: Upgrade photos by auto-correcting group shots and offering better composition options.

OnePlus is also deepening its partnership with Google Gemini, allowing AI capabilities to work across both OxygenOS and Google apps. With features like Gemini Live, users will be able to have real-time AI-powered conversations based on what they see or share on screen.

Privacy-First AI with Hybrid Processing

To balance performance with privacy, OnePlus uses a hybrid AI architecture. While most processing is done locally on-device, heavier tasks leverage a secure Private Computing Cloud (PCC). This ensures that even sensitive data remains protected via encryption and the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE).

With these innovations, OnePlus is laying the foundation for a more personalized, secure, and intuitive AI experience, one that feels less like a feature, and more like a companion.
