Oakley’s First AI-Powered Smart Glasses Launched in India: Check Price, Features, Availability

Oakley is set to launch its AI-powered Meta HSTN smart glasses in India on December 1, marking the company’s entry into performance-focused AI eyewear designed for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. Priced at ₹41,800, the glasses are already up for pre-sale on Sunglass Hut, with full retail availability beginning December 1 across Sunglass Hut outlets and major optical retailers nationwide.

The Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses are designed for active use, combining comfort, durability, and on-the-go AI assistance. They feature a fully integrated camera for hands-free content capture, open-ear speakers for awareness during workouts, and IPX4 splash resistance for outdoor training. The glasses offer up to 8 hours of battery life, 19 hours on standby, and an additional 48 hours via the bundled charging case.

For athletes and creators, the Meta HSTN supports high-resolution 3K video recording and includes Meta’s built-in AI assistant for instant information. Users can quickly ask for surf forecasts, weather conditions, or wind data before a golf swing using the “Hey Meta” voice command, making it ideal for fast-moving environments.

The glasses also support full Hindi interaction through Meta AI. Users can switch the device language via the Meta AI app and access hands-free commands in Hindi for content capture, media controls, calls, and general queries. Powered by Sarvam’s language tools, this feature makes the device more accessible to Indian users. Meta is also introducing Celebrity AI Voice options, starting with Deepika Padukone in English.

Meta is further testing UPI Lite payments on the glasses. With this feature, users will be able to look at a QR code and say, “Hey Meta, scan and pay,” completing transactions through their WhatsApp-linked bank account.

“This marks a bold new chapter in our wearables journey. With Oakley’s iconic design legacy and Meta’s breakthroughs in AI and spatial computing, we’re setting a new standard for the industry,” said Rocco Basilico, Chief Wearables Officer at EssilorLuxottica. “It’s part of a broader multi-brand, multi-technology strategy that reflects the scale of our ambition: to build a connected eyewear category that spans lifestyles, communities, and use cases. We’re combining design, utility, and emotion to deepen human connection and unlock new potential through the lens of every brand we touch. And there is far more to come.”
