Design and Build: Slim Profile With Premium Finish
The Edge 70 continues Motorola’s signature Edge-series design language, sporting a squiricle-shaped rear camera module and a soft-touch vegan leather back panel. At just 5.99mm thick, it positions itself among the slimmest smartphones currently announced, competing directly with ultra-thin models like the Galaxy S25 Edge and Tecno Pova Slim.
Motorola will offer the Edge 70 in three stylish finishes: Lily Pad, Gadget Grey, and Bronze Green.
Camera Specs: Triple 50MP System With 4K Everywhere
Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 70 will pack an impressive triple 50MP camera setup, including:
- 50MP primary sensor
- 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens
- A third 50MP camera for enhanced imaging
On the front, a 50MP quad-pixel selfie camera is expected, aimed at delivering crisp, detailed photos and high-quality video calls. Motorola also revealed that all three rear cameras will support 4K 60fps video recording, a major highlight in this segment.
Display and Durability: Bright, Sharp and Rugged
The smartphone will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and an astonishing 4,500 nits peak brightness, promising exceptional outdoor visibility. It also comes with Dolby Atmos for enhanced audio output.
Durability appears to be a major focus, with Motorola equipping the device with:
- IP68 + IP69 water and dust resistance
- MIL-STD-810H military-grade protection
- Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front
This means the Edge 70 is designed to withstand submersion, high-pressure water jets, and extreme temperature variations.
Battery, Software and AI Features
Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging. On the software side, the phone runs Hello UI based on Android 16, with Motorola promising three years of OS updates and four years of security patches.
For AI-based tools, the Edge 70 will support:
- Circle to Search
- Magic Eraser
- Magic Editor
- Smart Connect 3.0 for PC mirroring and smart TV integration
With its sleek design, robust hardware, and feature-rich software, the Motorola Edge 70 is shaping up to be a formidable contender in the mid-range smartphone space when it lands in India this December.
