Main Vaapas Aunga Teaser Out; Diljit Dosanjh & Sharvari Star In Imtiaz Ali’s Latest Set Against 1947 Partition [WATCH]

“Kahani hai romantic jo 78 years se inke mind mein chal rahi hai!” (This story is romantic has been running in his mind for 78 years!) Dijit Dosanjh’s character narrates what’s up with their dadaji (grandpa), portrayed by Naseeruddin Shah.

The dream sequence takes to the elderly’s world of dreams in a montage set in 1947. It’s the year India was liberated from two centuries of colonialism and finally united as a republic. It is also the year that saw one of the most heartbreaking humanitarian crises as India and Pakistan partitioned. The painful memories linger for many. For some for the better. For others, not so.

“Mai Wapas Aaunga” brings back Imtiaz Ali and Diljit Dosanjh after their blockbuster Amar Singh Chamkila (2024). The movie will see a new pair opposite each other with Sharvari Wagh, last seen in Munjya (2024) and Vedang Raina, who played Alia Bhatt’s brother in the 2024 action thriller Jigra.
