Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s film Jolly LLB 3 is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Ever since it was announced, fans have been eagerly waiting to watch it on the big screen. As the teaser and the recently released song Bhai Vakeel Hai left the internet impressed, a Pune court summoned the actor after a petition was filed against the Subhash Kapoor directorial. The petition was filed by Pune-based lawyers, Wazed Khan Bidkar and Ganesh Mhaske.

As reported by the Free Press Journal, the petitioners have sought a ban on the release of the film as it allegedly portrays the legal profession in a derogatory manner, as well as insults the judiciary. In their petition, the lawyers have also strongly objected to the use of “mamu” in a dialogue, which refers to a judge. The media report stated that the actors have been asked to appear before the court on August 28, 2025.

Opening up about his petition, during an interaction with ETV Bharat, quoted by the Free Press Journal, Bidkar expressed, “The teaser of the film, ‘Jolly LLB 3′, has been released, and actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi have promoted it by wearing lawyers’ bands (bows). Due to this, the image of lawyers has been tarnished through electronic media, and the legal profession has been insulted in the film. Therefore, we had approached the civil court and sought a restraining order against the film. Accordingly, Judge JG Pawar has summoned the producers and actors of the film to appear before the court on August 28.”
It is to be noted that the makers of Jolly LLB 3 and the actors have yet to issue any statement about the petition.

For those who don’t know, the movie is the third installment of the beloved franchise. The first film, Jolly LLB, was released in 2013 with Warsi being pitted against Boman Irani. After receiving love from the audience, the maker made the movie into a franchise in 2017, when Jolly LLB 2 was released. The film also starred Annu Kapoor. It is to be noted that all three films are directed by Subhash Kapoor.
Directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 stars Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi, Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao, Saurabh Shukla, and Gajraj Rao. It will be released on the big screens on September 19, 2025.
