Ennismore — the Accor-affiliated lifestyle hospitality company behind brands such as The Hoxton, Mondrian and SO/ — has announced plans to open The Hoxton, Madrid in 2026. The new hotel, located on Plaza de Santa Ana in the heart of Madrid’s historic center, will mark the brand’s debut in the Spanish capital and its second Hoxton property in the country, following The Hoxton, Poblenou in Barcelona, which opened in 2022.
Taking over a modernist-style building designed by Jesús Carrasco-Muñoz y Encina, The Hoxton, Madrid will feature 192 guestrooms and suites across five signature categories. Designed with the brand’s signature layered, homey aesthetic, interiors will draw inspiration from the surrounding neighborhood, incorporating simple color palettes, retro-chic furnishings, and statement rugs.
The property will also include The Apartment, The Hoxton’s signature events and meeting space, and several food and beverage concepts curated by Ennismore’s in-house F&B platform. Among them: Il Bambini Club, a lively trattoria with outposts in Paris and London, and Cayo Coco, a rooftop bar inspired by tropical Cuba, serving cocktails, wine, and beer against sweeping city views.
“Madrid has long been on our radar, and this modernist gem of a building is going to be the perfect home for The Hoxton brand in a neighborhood teeming with incredible culture, food and history,” Ennismore founder and co-CEO Sharan Pasricha said in a statement. “The Hoxton’s pipeline for the coming years is strong, with Madrid one of several openings we have lined up in Europe alongside Oslo, Kraków and Hamburg, as well as Melbourne in Australia and Nashville in the US. Our bar concept, Cayo Coco, has been a standout success in Vienna, so we’re particularly excited to introduce it to Madrid.”
The refurbishment of The Hoxton, Madrid will be led by Petra AM, with support from Urban Input Group, the same team behind The Hoxton, Paris and The Hoxton, Poblenou. Guests will be steps from Madrid’s renowned cultural landmarks — the Prado, Reina Sofía, and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums — as well as lively tapas bars, markets and theaters.
The upcoming opening underscores Ennismore’s growing presence in Spain. Earlier in 2025, the company debuted SLS Barcelona, its first SLS property in Europe, followed by the 2024 launches of Mondrian and Hyde Ibiza, and the all-inclusive SO/ Sotogrande. Together, these projects highlight Ennismore’s strategy of expanding its diverse lifestyle portfolio across key global destinations.
