Do You Wanna Partner Review: Tamannaah Bhatia, Diana Penty’s Beer Saga Brews With Sweet, Bitter & Sour Notes

After weeks of anticipation, Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty starrer Do You Wanna Partner has finally been released on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video. Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment and directed by Collin D’Cunha and Archit Kumar, the show also stars Jaaved Jaaferi, Nakuul Mehta, Ayesha Raza Mishra, Indraneil Sengupta, Shweta Tiwari, Neeraj Kabi, Sufi Motiwala, and Rannvijay Singha in important roles.

Do You Wanna Partner follows the journey of two childhood best friends, Shikha (Played by Bhatia) and Anahita (played by Penty), and the troubles they get into after deciding to quit their jobs and revive Shikha’s father, Sunjoy Roy Chowdhury’s (played by Sengupta) craft beer brand Gondogol. With the help of their crew consisting of Motiwala, Mehta, Jaaferi, and Mishra, they navigate through the struggles of establishing their own beer brand. As the show has been released today, let’s see how it fares and if it is worth your watch or not.

The show is backed by powerful performances by everyone in the cast, Diana as the headstrong girl who knows how to handle the financial side of the business, and Tamannaah with the big ambitions to fulfill her father’s dreams. Both actresses bring on their charms and do their best while performing their characters. Bring into the mix the quirky brewmaster, a hired actor, a supportive Gen Z brother, a hardheaded and strong-willed money lender, and you get an enjoyable show.

However, talking from the storyline point of view, the plot seems quite repetitive. From the light and breezy narrative that comes across as plain boring, the story has nothing new to offer. The same old romance tropes, the villain deceiving the main characters and causing trouble in their life, which, after a light-bulb moment, get solved instantly. Even the title track of the series comes across as a bit irritating.

One of the few issues from the show is that they have tried their level best to address the issues and prejudices faced by the women in every industry, who want to start something of their own. However, it fails to dive deeper into the issues and only solves them on the surface so that they can get their happy ending.

All in all, the show is an enjoyable one-time watch that has nothing amazing to offer but is just there if you’re bored out of your mind.
