As the Ramesh Sippy directorial is all set to complete 50 years of its release, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan remembered the film which released in 1975. On Sunday, like he has done for the past many years, he greeted his fans outside his Juhu house. He even shared glimpses of the meet and greet on his blog, along with a heartfelt note. Remembering the film, he also shared a rare Rs 20 Sholay ticket from 1975.
Sharing the photos of himself waving to the crowd, the actor spoke about the quiet hours of the night. Quoted by India Today, he wrote, “It be the silence of the hour when the awakening occurs… mysterious is it not… the waken be the ideal for the late hour…” he wrote. Discussing inspiration amidst chaos, he added, “Seemingly unendorsed opinion or expression, but strangely in the midst of cacophony, the creative or the mind that thinks, excels… at times the best.”
In the same post, the 82-year-old veteran actor shared a photo of the Sholay ticket, which he still has, even five decades later. He went on to express, “The Sholay ticket.. kept and preserved, just defeated whatever has been expressed a few lines above… 20!! the price.. !!!!!?? I am told that is the price of an aerated drink in theatre halls nowadays… is that a fact??”

Reflecting on how things have drastically changed now, he compared the old ticket price to a soft drink at theatres today. For those who don’t know, the actual price of soft drinks ranges from Rs 180 to Rs 500 for a single cup, depending on the size, at the multiplexes.
