AmaWaterways Appoints Two New Senior Vice Presidents

AmaWaterways has announced the appointment of two new senior executives to support the company’s continued global expansion. Angel Christopher Gomez has been named senior vice president, Global Consumer Sales and Service, and Sezin Aksoy has joined as senior vice president, Revenue Management, Insights and Analytics. Both leaders bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will help guide AmaWaterways into its next phase of growth.

“With the momentum we’re experiencing globally, it’s more important than ever that we continue to strengthen our leadership team with individuals who bring both deep expertise and alignment with our culture,” said Catherine Powell, CEO of AmaWaterways. “Angel and Sezin are passionate, purpose-driven leaders whose talents will help us elevate the guest experience and make more data-informed decisions that support our long-term vision.”

Gomez brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in the travel and hospitality industry, with a strong background in supporting both trade and consumer channels and building lasting relationships within the trade community. Most recently, he served as associate vice president at Celebrity Cruises within Royal Caribbean Group. Known for his collaborative leadership style, Gomez has overseen global sales and service operations and led initiatives to strengthen guest engagement and team development. At AmaWaterways, he now oversees Global Consumer Sales, Service, and Reservations operations, collaborating with key departments to expand omnichannel capabilities and further elevate the guest and travel advisor experience.

Aksoy joins AmaWaterways with over 20 years of leadership experience driving strategy, revenue optimization, and analytics across travel, sports, and entertainment industries. She most recently served as SVP of Global Data Strategy & Analytics at AXS, a global ticketing platform and AEG division, where she led cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven business growth. Her earlier roles include senior positions at Legendary Entertainment, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and American Airlines, where she started her career in Revenue Management and Corporate Sales. At AmaWaterways, Sezin will lead efforts to strengthen analytical capabilities, optimize revenue strategies, and support sustainable, strategic growth across the organization.
