Alia Bhatt, Sharvari’s Spy Film Alpha, Postponed Because Of Salman Khan’s Battle Of Galwan? Here’s The Truth

One of the most anticipated films of 2026 has yet again been postponed. Yash Raj Films’ upcoming spy film Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, was earlier scheduled for a release on April 17, 2026. However, now that Salman Khan has announced that his film Battle Of Galwan will be released on the same date, while unveiling its teaser, it is being reported that the makers of the spy film are planning to postpone it to avoid a box office clash.

Yes, you read that right! On Saturday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official social media handle to make the announcement. It is to be noted that the makers of the espionage spy thriller are yet to comment on the news. His tweet reads, “#BreakingNews… ALPHA AVOIDS CLASH WITH BATTLE OF GALWAN – YRF TO DECIDE ON A NEW DATE… #AdityaChopra steps aside for #SalmanKhan, moving Alpha from its previously announced release date of April 17, 2026, to avoid a direct clash with BattleOfGalwan. #YRF had locked April 17, 2026, for Alpha, but the makers will now announce a new release date after assessing the theatrical release calendar over the next couple of months.”

For those who don’t know, reportedly, this is the second postponement the film is going through. It was earlier scheduled for a release on Christmas 2025. According to various media reports, it had been previously postponed since the makers required additional time for post-production, which included extensive visual effects work. While the makers are yet to announce a new release date, it was expected to be released in the second half of 2026.

It is to be noted that Alpha is a part of YRF’s Spy Universe, which also includes Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, Salman Khan’s Tiger franchise, and Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir from War franchise. Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is YRF’s first female-led spy thriller film. The film also has Anil Kapoor & Bobby Deol in pivotal roles.
