Global travel loyalty and technology company Arrivia has acquired Bon Voyage Travel, a specialized agency known for its focus on premium and luxury cruise experiences. The strategic move aims to bolster Arrivia’s position in the luxury cruise sector by combining its loyalty platform and distribution reach with Bon Voyage Travel’s high-touch, advisor-led service model.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition underscores a broader industry trend where technology-led platforms are increasingly seeking the expertise of traditional human advisors to service high-net-worth travelers. While Arrivia operates a massive travel privileges platform for major brands — including American Express, USAA, and T-Mobile — the addition of Bon Voyage Travel adds a layer of curated, relationship-based service essential for the complex luxury cruise market.
“We see premium and luxury travel playing a much bigger role in how brands build customer relationships,” said Arrivia CEO Mike Nelson. “Experience-led trips, particularly in categories like luxury cruise, give brands a way to reward customers, increase share of wallet and build loyalty in ways traditional rewards simply can’t. Cruise sits at the center of the experiential travel trend because it brings together transportation, accommodations, dining, and entertainment in one trip. What used to be considered a once-in-a-lifetime trip has become a go-to for all-inclusive convenience, variety, and value. That simplicity, combined with the rise of luxury and wellness-focused sailings, makes cruise one of the most attractive categories for premium travelers.”
Under the terms of the agreement, Bon Voyage Travel will retain its brand identity and operations. Ryan Hansen, who has served as president of Bon Voyage Travel for 14 years, will continue to lead the organization to ensure continuity for advisors, clients, and suppliers.
“Luxury cruise is a relationship-driven business, and people and culture are everything,” added Nelson. “A core priority for me is ensuring we preserve what makes Bon Voyage Travel exceptional, the advisors, the service model, and the culture, while thoughtfully supporting the team with Arrivia’s scale, technology, and partner reach. This is about strengthening what already works and creating long-term opportunity for the people behind the brand.”
Bon Voyage Travel was founded 50 years ago by Peter Evans. Evans will remain involved in an advisory capacity following the sale.
“Finding the right long-term partner was incredibly important to me,” said Evans. “Arrivia shares our values around service, relationships, and integrity. This combination ensures the legacy of Bon Voyage Travel continues, while positioning the company for its next phase of growth.”
The deal provides Bon Voyage Travel with access to Arrivia’s broader ecosystem, including its loyalty programs and partner channels, potentially opening new client pipelines for the agency’s advisors.
“Joining forces with Arrivia gives us the ability to scale while staying true to what defines Bon Voyage Travel,” added Hansen. “We can remain highly focused on advisor excellence and client outcomes, while leveraging Arrivia’s capabilities to expand thoughtfully, strengthen supplier partnerships, and accelerate our next phase of growth.”
