120 Bahadur Team Launches ‘My Stamp’ Dedicated To Rezang La War Memorial

120 Bahadur Team Launches ‘My Stamp’ Dedicated To Rezang La War Memorial

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled a special customised ‘My Stamp’ on the Rezang La War Memorial in New Delhi this week, marking the 63rd anniversary of the legendary Battle of Rezang La. The launch coincided with the promotion of the upcoming war drama 120 Bahadur, inspired by the real-life heroism of the 13th Battalion of the Kumaon Regiment during the 1962 India-China war.

The commemorative stamp, designed and issued by the Department of Posts, celebrates the unmatched courage of the 120 Indian soldiers who fought to the last man under Major Shaitan Singh’s command in the icy heights of Ladakh’s Rezang La. The initiative was organised jointly by the film’s team and the postal department to immortalise the battle’s spirit through both cinema and philately.

At the event, held in the presence of senior officials and film representatives, Rajnath Singh formally unveiled the stamp, highlighting India’s enduring respect for its soldiers’ sacrifice. Also in attendance were Director General of Postal Services Jitendra Gupta, filmmaker Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and contributors Amit Chandrra and Arhan Bagati. Together, they presented the stamp that features the iconic Rezang La War Memorial, a symbolic tribute standing on the windswept Ladakh plateau where the battle took place.

The upcoming film 120 Bahadur is set to dramatise the extraordinary real-life story of the 120 soldiers who defended Rezang La against overwhelming odds during the 1962 war. The title refers to the strength and bravery of the men from the 13 Kumaon Regiment, most of whom perished defending their post. Directed by Razneesh Ghai, the film is being produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and is slated for release on 21 November 2025, the anniversary of the battle.

The launch event has drawn considerable attention online, with fans sharing visuals of Rajnath Singh and the film’s team holding the newly issued stamp. The Department of Posts described the limited-edition release as a tribute to India’s indomitable military legacy and a reminder of the sacrifice made in one of the most defining battles of the Indian Army.

As 120 Bahadur continues production, the unveiling of the My Stamp serves as both a commemorative gesture and a patriotic prelude to the film’s release, uniting the worlds of defence history and cinema in honour of the Rezang La heroes.
