Pixar has finally unveiled the first teaser trailer of the upcoming film Toy Story 5. A part of the much-loved franchise, the film is all set to impress the audience as the toys embark on a journey to prove their importance when they are pitted against their tech-savvy rival, an iPad. They shared the teaser on their official social media handle, with the caption, “The age of toys is over…? #ToyStory5 is only in theaters June 19, 2026.”

The 49 second teaser starts with a special delivery arriving at Bonnie’s house addressed to the child. As soon as the toys see the package they start shaking in terror. The makers show us all the beloved toys including Woody, who had stayed back with Bo to help all the lost toys find their owners. Bonnie proceeds to remove a smart tablet named Lilypad, who is voiced by Greta Lee of Past Lives and Tron: Ares fame.

Well, as soon as the teaser went live on all social media platforms, the netizens took to their handles to express their opinions about it. While the majority praised the makers for showing how electronics are taking over the imaginative world children could create with their toys, others expressed how the film has the chance to make an important statement and start a discourse over parents choosing iPads over parenting their children.

One wrote, “The concept of the toys competing with electronics.” Another wrote, “& when I’m in the theatre make sure all yall kids shut the fuck up.” One said, “I’m crying those old ass toys that andy had in 1995 still getting passed around decades later.” Another said, “if disney play their cards right this film could be incredibly important in relation to how kids are raised nowadays.”

Toy Story 5 is co-directed by Andrew Stanton of Finding Nemo and Wall-E fame, & debutant McKenna Harris. The movie will see the return of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack. They will be joined by Conan O’Brien, who has voiced a quirky toilet-training assistant named Smarty Pants. The movie is scheduled for a release on June 19, 2026.
