The much-awaited sequel of De De Pyaar De (2019) is finally here. On Tuesday evening, the makers unveiled the trailer for everyone to enjoy. It is safe to say that the feel-good entertainer packs some serious punch. The three-minute and four-second video starts where the first film concludes, as promised, Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) takes Ashish (Ajay Devgn) to meet her family.
The makers of the movie shared the trailer on their official X (formerly know as Twitter) handle, with the caption, “When your BF is your dad’s age and not yours, you know it’s time for a #PyaarVsParivaar showdown! 🥊 #DeDePyaarDe2 Trailer out now 👇 bit.ly/DDPD2Trailer Releasing In cinemas Nov 14 🎟️”

The trailer starts with Rakul’s character telling her parents about her older and divorced boyfriend, whose age she conveniently forgets to mention. As her parents, played by Madhavan and Gautami, reassure her that they are “educated and progressive people,” who understand it all, enters Devgn’s character ready to charm his same-aged in-laws. Ashish cribs about Ayesha hiding his age from her parents, she reminds him of how he had lied to his family about her. Cue him trying out tricks to impress her family, with the support of his psychologist.
In the midst of it all, Meezaan’s character marks an entry, standing on two running cars (an ode to Devgn’s iconic entry scene from Phool Aur Kaante). Ashish tries his level best to stay calm in comic situations where Meezaan’s character does everything in his power to impress Rakul’s character. The trailer is filled with comedic gags, which make you chuckle and giggle.
All in all, given the mainstream comedy films we have gotten in the past year or so, De De Pyaar De 2’s trailer seems to have hit all the right spots. The age-gab jabs seem subtle and not on-the-face over exaggeration. It has found the perfect balance between the emotions it wants to convey.
Last seen together in the horror-thriller Shaitaan, actors Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan have flipped the script in De De Pyaar De 2. While the latter was behind the former’s daughter in the horror film, it is the other way around in this one. But, one this is for sure, no matter what the genre is, the chemistry between the actors is quite solid. They surely make a hilarious father-in-law and son-in-law duo.
Starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Rakul Preet Singh, Meezaan Jafri, Jaaved Jafri, Gautami Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, and others, De De Pyaar De 2 is directed by Anshul Sharma. Produced by the T-Series Films and Luv Films, the movie is a direct sequel to the first film. It is scheduled for a release on November 14, 2025.
