Cathay Pacific will resume nonstop passenger flights between Hong Kong and Seattle on March 30, 2026, marking its ninth North American destination and further expanding the carrier’s transpacific network. The new service will operate five times per week aboard Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering fully flat beds in Business, spacious Premium Economy seating, and enhanced comfort in Economy cabins.
The move underscores Cathay Pacific’s broader North American growth strategy. The airline launched direct service between Hong Kong and Dallas-Fort Worth earlier this year, which will increase from four to seven weekly flights beginning October 26, 2025. By summer 2026, Cathay will offer more than 110 return flights per week across its North American gateways, including Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Vancouver.
“We are excited to resume direct passenger flights to Seattle, reinforcing our goal to deepen business and cultural ties between Hong Kong and a dynamic tech hub in the United States,” Lavinia Lau, chief customer and commercial officer, Cathay Pacific, said in a statement. “This route not only provides greater convenience for our customers, but also supports the growing demand for connectivity between Asia and North America, particularly among travellers from the Chinese Mainland and India.”
To celebrate the route’s relaunch, Cathay Pacific is offering promotional fares from $691 for bookings made between September 22 and October 22, 2025, valid for departures between March 30–May 24, 2026, and August 15–December 7, 2026. Savings are available in Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.
The airline’s Seattle return comes as Cathay enhances the customer experience across its long-haul network. Updates include the introduction of the award-winning Aria Suite in Business class, a new Premium Economy cabin, and refreshed Economy seats now flying on select Vancouver services. Cathay also plans to debut a nearly 10,000-square-foot flagship lounge at New York JFK’s new Terminal 6 in 2026.
In addition to passenger traffic, the Seattle service will expand Cathay Cargo’s footprint, supplementing nearly 40 freighter flights per week to North America during the peak 2026 summer season.
Advisor Pitch: Cathay Pacific Returns to Seattle
For travel advisors, Cathay Pacific’s return to Seattle means new opportunities for clients looking for seamless Asia–U.S. connectivity. The five-times-weekly nonstop service to Hong Kong positions Seattle as a strong gateway for West Coast travelers, especially those connecting to Southeast Asia, the Chinese Mainland, and India via Cathay’s extensive network of more than 100 destinations. Business-class travelers can enjoy the airline’s award-winning Aria Suite and Michelin-starred inflight dining, while Premium Economy and Economy cabins deliver comfort and value. The introductory fare promotion, starting at $691, gives advisors an attractive entry point for both leisure and business clients booking 2026 travel. Advisors can position this route as a convenient new link between one of America’s top tech hubs and one of Asia’s most vibrant global cities.
