Hero MotoCorp’s Vida Set To Launch Battery-as-a-Service Model With Vida VX2 Scooter On July 1

Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand, Vida, is set to introduce a game-changing Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model with the upcoming launch of the Vida VX2 electric scooter. Starting July 1, 2025, this new offering aims to make electric vehicle (EV) ownership more affordable and accessible for a wider audience across India.

The innovative BaaS model allows customers to separate the cost of the scooter and its battery, enabling a lower upfront purchase price. Instead of paying for the battery outright, riders can subscribe to a monthly plan tailored to their usage needs—whether daily or monthly. This flexible pay-as-you-go approach not only lowers the financial barrier for entry but also offers more convenience and adaptability, especially for new EV users or those hesitant about the initial investment.

With several subscription tiers likely to be available, Vida aims to provide customers the freedom to pick plans that best fit their lifestyle and riding habits. This flexibility is expected to attract a broader demographic, from urban commuters to budget-conscious buyers, who may have previously found EVs cost-prohibitive.

The introduction of the BaaS model is part of Hero MotoCorp’s larger vision to foster a more inclusive and future-ready EV ecosystem under the Vida brand. The company is focused on accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in India by making EVs easier to own and maintain. By reducing the upfront cost and providing ongoing battery support, Hero MotoCorp hopes to encourage more riders to switch to cleaner, greener transportation options.

Additionally, Vida customers will benefit from Hero MotoCorp’s expanding EV infrastructure, which already includes over 3,600 fast-charging stations and more than 500 service centers spread across more than 100 cities in India. This growing network aims to enhance convenience and peace of mind for EV owners, ensuring reliable support and easy access to charging.

More detailed information about the Vida VX2, including the specific subscription plans, pricing, and features, will be officially unveiled on July 1, 2025. With this move, Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand is poised to make electric scooters more financially accessible and practical, driving the future of sustainable mobility in India.
