Affordable eateries at the airport? The government, in its bid to counter the exorbitantly priced establishments in the airports serving basic delish like a masala dosa at a minimum price of Rs 200 and more, has launched the Udaan Yatri Cafe.
These cozy canteens will provide reasonably priced edibles, including a Rs 10 chai, a Rs 20 samosa or vadapav, and more. Coffee lovers can avail one at Rs 20 at the eatery. The cafe will also provide bottled water at a low cost of Rs 10 to ensure the convenience of travelers. Already up and running at airports in Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Kolkata, the latest city to get one is Pune.
Murlidhar Mohol, the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, unveiled the Udaan Yatri Cafe at the Pune International Airport. The cafe is entirely operated by women staff.
Mumbai and other leading airports in the country will also get the low-cost cafe for the benefit of flyers.

Meanwhile reactions poured in with some appreciating the move and a few critical of the establishment. “Low quality and bad for health,’ jibed one, while another user remarked, “Hope the food quality is better. Rail cafe with similar price offer poor food.”
Cheap food with high volume = lower quality and definitely bad for your health.
