Mumbai is the film capital of the country, a place that has birthed Bollywood. So, obviously, it wasn’t the same when theatres in Maharashtra were sealed shut while different parts of the country started to unlock. But not anymore! That’s right; after deciding to open schools and religious places, the Maharashtra government has now decided to reopen theatres and auditoriums in the state from October 22, 2021. No, the pandemic isn’t over yet but the move is sure to revive the entertainment biz that was struck bad in the times of COVID-19.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray took to Twitter to announce the same and wrote, “Theatres and auditoriums in Maharashtra will open after 22nd October 2021 while observing all COVID safety protocols. SOP is in the works and will be declared soon.” The CM has even assured that all safety protocols will be followed to limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
