Colin De Grandhomme Dead? Fans Flood Internet With Condolences Post Black Caps’ Complex Tweet



Popular New Zealand cricketer Colin De Grandhomme began trending on the internet, right after the Black Caps Cricket Board posted a dramatic tweet announcing the end of his famous ‘mullet’. The 35-year-old all-rounder, who is all set to participate in the upcoming ODIs T20I series against Pakistan, was assumed to be dead by several fans due to the complex use of words shared by the New Zealand Cricket Board while talking about the all-rounder’s new hairstyle.

Taking to the microblogging site, the NZ Board shared a series of photos of De Grandhomme from the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where the Kiwis have been training for their upcoming clash against Pakistan and wrote, “BREAKING NEWS. The famous Colin de Grandhomme mullet is no more. #PAKvNZ #CricketNation.”

While the dramatic choice of words used to describe De Grandhomme’s new hairstyle, who chopped off his famous ‘mullet’ right before the Pakistan series, seemed to have misfired and hit the wrong chords with the audience. The tweet not only grabbed everyone’s attention, but cricket enthusiasts from all across the globe flooded the internet with condolences, assuming the 35-year-old player to be dead.

While De Grandhomme is very much alive and all set to play in New Zealand’s upcoming cricket series, netizens definitely had a field day thanks to the Black Caps tweet. Meanwhile, the New Zealand team is currently in Pakistan, where the two teams will lock horns in three ODIs and five Twenty20 international series.
