BTS And Coldplay Team Up At Global Citizen Live; Leave Army Stunned With Their ‘My Universe’ Performance

Global K-Pop icons BTS kickstarted the 24-hour 2021 Global Citizen Festival with an electrifying Permission to Dance performance (from Seoul) that left millions of fans across the globe surprised. But that was not all, as the septet joined British band Coldplay (virtually), who were an integral part of the star-studded lineup to perform at the Central Park in New York City.

With over 60 renowned artists participating in one of the biggest international charity events (that aims to end extreme poverty by 2030), several fans from across the globe tuned in to the broadcast and bands from popular bands deliver a breathtaking live performance. Needless to say, the internet was flooded with posts as BTS Army and music fanatics shared their excitement as the two popular bands grooved to their first collaborative track ‘My Universe’.

After months of speculations, the BTS and Coldplay announced their collaboration earlier this month and finally dropped their first track ‘My Universe’ on Friday (Sept. 24) which was welcomed with open arms. And just after releasing the track, the two teamed up once again and left everyone entertained with their live performance on one of the grandest stages of all. “This is a song we did with BTS. This is a song about love who you love, and only that,” Coldplay lead Chris Martin told the crowd as BTS members joined them virtually.

The international charity event organised by Global Citizen on Saturday (Sept. 25) also featured other renowned artists: Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Demi Lovato, The Weeknd, Lorde, Shawn Mendes, Billie Eilish, Adam Lambert among many others, who rocked the stage with their entertaining performances. Popular Indian artists like Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ayushmann Khurrana and others also joined the long list of superstars who participated in the Global Citizen Festival.
