Amazon Launches Prime Video Channels In India With Content From 8 Streaming Platforms Under One Roof


Amazon Prime Video is stepping into the content aggregation space in India with the launch of Prime Video Channels — a section that will allow Prime users access to a catalogue of popular streaming services under a common roof.

At launch, Prime Video Channels will give Prime members the option of accessing content from eight video-streaming services including discovery+, Lionsgate Play, DocuBay, Eros Now, MUBI, hoichoi, manoramaMAX, and ShortsTV – each accessible with respective add-on subscriptions. So yes, you will still be paying separately for each of these services. But, to celebrate the launch, Prime members can enjoy a special introductory annual subscription offer made available by the OTT channel partners.

Discovery Plus, Shorts TV and Eros Now will cost INR 299 annually (INR 399 separately), Docubay INR 499 annually (INR 999 separately), Hoichoi for INR 599 annually (INR 899 separately), Lionsgate Play and Manorama Max for INR 699 annually and MUBI for INR 1,999 annually (INR 3,588 separately).

Prime members will be able to watch subscribed Prime Video Channels anywhere and anytime on the Prime Video app for smart TVs, mobile devices, Fire TV, Fire TV stick, Fire tablets, Apple TV, etc. In the Prime Video app, Prime members can download episodes on their mobile devices and tablets and watch anywhere offline at no additional cost.
